Notes
Enock, Martin and Nate visited this community to check on the progress of sanitation improvement. They focused on teaching the importance of good sanitation and hygiene. They also walked around sensitizing the residents about the better ways of constructing good latrines with good foundation and structures, they also continued teaching the use of dish racks and how to construct them. The construction of shower areas was also taught, emphasis was put on good drainage systems such as construction soak pits to collect water from the shower areas. During this visit, they saw many new latrines which are well constructed, good shower areas, new dish racks in most of the homes and all are under use. Enock encouraged all to have good latrine, educate them about the dangers of open defecation as well as the diseases that result due to open defecations and expresses they spend on medication. Enock, Martin and Nate were so encouraged to see an-old woman appreciating the work of kibo going on in her village. She told them that before kibo entered that village, they were few latrines, but when you work around, everyone is working so hard to get it. And those who have worked on their latrines, they were busy working on their sanitation facilities like dish racks, kitchens, rubbish pits and shower areas. And mostly the women in that village, were busy smearing their sanitation facilities like main-houses, kitchens, latrines and shower areas. The Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members are willing to encourage the community members about the sanitation facilities. Because they have seen the value of them. Enock Martin and Nate walked in 40homes.
