- Notes
- Irene and Ida went to kitukiro to continue with the disease recognition lessons particularly Hepatitis. Ida started with a review of the previous lesson then invited Irene to continue with the next lesson.
Irene introduced hepatitis and asked for the meaning of hepatitis.
Kagoya said that it’s a European disease. Lusiyata said that it’s a disease for bones and Kateme was bold enough to say that she doesn’t know and has never heard of that disease.Naisanga asked what happens if my husband has hepatitis and me the woman I don’t have, can it affect me?,
Irene answered to that and said unless you are vaccinated, you are at risk of getting the infection and also advised her to tell, help her husband seek medical advice. Another member asked Is this disease from the watermelon pesticides because most people say once you inhale the pesticide you get hepatitis and Irene answered that saying there is no clear proof that it’s caused by that and unless proven there is no truth to that, apart from the causes she had told them.
The lesson was so interactive as more questions came in and at the end of the lesson Irene advise the community members to go seek medical treatment and testing because the Government has provided them for free all over the country and to inform other members about the benefits of getting vaccinated.
