- Notes
- Harriet found the participants already gathered at the meeting place. The village chairperson LC1 warmly welcomed her to their village. He apologized on behalf of the community for the previous un successfull meeting that was caused by parents meeting at Nabikabala primary school that called for all the parents to attend.
Harriet told them that they should not feel guilt about it because the parents meeting was equally important because they needed to know how their children are progressing academically.
She asked the group to elect their own leaders who will coordinate the program because kibo focuses on sustainability of its program. She also added that these will be voluntary leaders expected to work with out any pay.
The community by consensus chose Kawala Dinah to be the Chairperson of the program and Mawanda Samson as the vice chairperson. The community selected the rest of other community members and were gender sensitive whereby it had Four women and three men.
She also asked the community to identify challenges that may fail the effectiveness of the program and suggest possible solutions to overcome them.
There was a challenges of absenteeism and the group a greed that if some one got a stove and doesn’t show up for the meeting , the group will go and destroy her stove so that they will all use.
They also said that in case some one is sick, or lost a dear one she or he should communicate through the leaders to avoid being fined.
Harriet also encouraged them to love the program as well as respect one another for the program to be effective. The community also agreed to always come for the meetings on time to give them enough time for the meeting and also to go back home on time.
