- Irene went to kitukiro to continue with disease recognition basically to continue with how food and water is contaminated, prevention and management.
Irene started with a review of the previous lesson and after asked the members to inform her the different ways of contamination or of getting food and water dirty. Sarah said when we use dirty jericans, and dirty pots, when we allow animals to drink in it then we also drink it, drinking rain water, eating cold food and others then Irene added on the answers given and also interactively discussed the signs and symptoms of food poisoning and the prevention.
Irene also taught the members how to make ORS(oral rehydration salts) using salt, water and sugar and advised the members to refer all individuals with signs of contamination or poisoning to the hospital.
