Notes
Tape and Jeska went to the village to practically teach the community members how to build the fuel efficient stoves, and when they arrived there, they found some members actively preparing materials that were going to be used for building the energy saving stove at one of their member’s home. The members also reported to have completed building the first stove very early in the morning that same day which really motivated kibo staffs to continue working with them. Tape and Jeska thanked them for taking effort in trying to build the stoves on their own although they were not perfectly built. Kibo staffs walked back to the first home where the first stove was built and corrected some mistakes like the measurements and fixing of the banana stems which were poorly done. The stems were taken out and then fixed back in a right position and also the stove was neatly shaped, this was carried out while Tape and Jeska explained every step. There after, they walked back to a home and together worked hard with each person at least participating in all steps which was encouraging because it made work much more easier and faster. Kibo staffs mainly guided the members during the demonstration process because they needed to be empowered with the skills which would enable them build stoves on their own even when Kibogroup left their village. The members were so grateful for the Healthy and Safe kitchen program introduced to them, and promised to always continue working together as a community for an effective development. Tape and Jeska thanked all the members for participating in the demonstration process and encouraged them to always maintain the same spirit of working together. The meeting finally came to an end after they both agreed on the date and time the next meeting would take place.
