Tom passed by the sub county where he met with the health assistant as well as the chief to share with them about kibo program in their area. He shared with them about the work of the kibo (clts) program in kalitumba village as well as Kagulu and buyange. After the meeting, a police officer offered to go with Tom to kalitumba to see the village of kalitumba. While In the village, they first moved around the village as the chairman has some other issues to work on in the village. They moved in homes where they found that the residents have started working on facilities. In one home while Tom was still doing the baseline, they broke the old shower facility which was below standard and have already finished the construction of a new shower facility while in one home, a dish rack is about to be done. In one specific home, the police officer demonstrated to the resident how to construct a low cost latrine just like in the picture attached. After they met with the chairman, vhts and few village residents where Tom was able to share with them about the changes in the program. Tom said kibo didn’t just come for a few days and leave the village but will come back next year for lessons and working together to improve the community as a whole in sanitation and hygiene. The police officer also encouraged them by talking about kibo as a good organization which they need to embrace and work together with for future development.
