Enock Made a visit to this community that will maintenance of latrines, shower areas, kitchen areas, hand washing facilities, check on the presence of rubbish pits and uses of all the facilities. As we continued walking around, mobilized the residents to come for the upcoming meeting which will take place on Friday this week. In that meeting we shall be teaching them the new models of hand washing stations which are sustainable, teach them the new style of dish racks and sensitizing them about the benefits of all theses facilities but most importantly the values of constructing good standard facilities . During this visit, Enock saw some two new latrines although it’s been many 5 months without visiting this village to check on latrine construction. There are many people who have greatly embraced the program, worked so hard to improve on their sanitation facilities, invested a lot of money built with bricks, cement and sand. This shows how they value their program. The chairman encouraged all his fellow residents to continue improving and maintaining all the facilities. There are also stoves which are functioning, we saw many homes using them. The number of latrine coverage has greatly increased and many people appreciate the program. Some people never thought of having all the facilities in their homes but they have managed to construct good facilities. Enock taught some families the importance of proper drainage on shower areas. Encouraging all the community members who haven’t roofed their latrines to roof them since it’s a rainy season most people may loose their latrines.
