Ws Notes
David and Steven were in Bulyowa to check on the status of the borehole which they had repaired some time back about one year. David and Steven reached the village while it was raining heavily. Therefore the Kibo staff drove towards Mpata’s home in the trading centre. Mpata lead them to the other borehole in section B which the village had reported to the Kibo to have a lot of on and off issues. At the borehole the Kibo staff found when the borehole was working but it wasn’t well maintained because it had no fence and a good sock pit. However one of the water user committee member reported to David and Steven that what used to cause some of the on and off issues was the borehole pipes which used to crack. The chairman of the borehole mr Mpata reported to the Kibo staff that because of the off and on issues which were occurring regularly they were not having money on their borehole account. Because it was heavily raining, the Kibo staff together with the village decided that they should organize for a borehole village general meeting which they thought will be aimed at how they would solve the back and forth borehole issues. In general they saw few homes because it was raining. They had maintained the required hygiene standards. Except for the few who had lost their roof structures due to the recent rains.
