Notes: It was raining when Tom arrivedmin the village and had to wait for about an hour and half before they could move around. While waiting for the rains to stop, Tom discussed with the chairman about how the village can improve in all aspects of sanitation in the next few weeks. The chairman suggested of making visits to specific homes and encouraging them about sanitation and hygiene improvements. When the rains reduced, they moved around specific homes and they found three new latrines, one pit being dug and two recently roofed with the iron sheets. Tom and the committee members encouraged the residents about hand washing as well as the use of ash. The village has also benefited from from another organization that is selling them sani-plates that help reduce smell and eliminate flies. The residents said they are thankful to kibo and the only reason this organization went to igerera is the availability of latrines. Because it was drizzling Tom left the village with encouragements to the chairman and the committee members of moving in the other homes not visited to see there progress, guide and encourage them accordingly.
