- Health lesson 9: Disease Recognition
- Notes
- Irene and Ida to continue with disease recognition basically for Irene to continue with the common types of cancer and most common causes of cancer.
Ida started with a review of the previous lesson then invited Irene to continue with the lesson. Irene started with a clear review of what she had explained previously about cancer then asked the members to give examples of the different kinds of cancer that they ever heard of and some mentioned long cancer, breast cancer.
Irene added on more common types and there after discussed on the causes of cancer which was very interactive coz the community members didn’t know some of the body areas that can be affected by cancer but thought it was witchcraft or just chronic wounds.
There after a lady in the group who was earlier diagnosed with breast cancer asked if Kibo can help her access medical care for her remaining life on earth. Irene advised her and encouraged her to go to the hospital that can provide the service free of charge and will do a follow up on her. More questions came up that Irene answered and informed the members that next time we meet we shall talk about the different signs and symptoms of cancer and the treatment.
