- Carter,Kayla,Aleya and Alex B met the members of Maliga upper to discuss about how they can take good care,provide shelter,and feed their goats that they hope to receive from Kibo group .
Alex B and the students from Harding university USA together with with Fidah checked up with the members. They said that the stoves that was built by kibo group for community members.They also inspected the trees that was given to them and how they are doing.The students asked questions how the members manage to care for the trees.They also asked how long the trees will take to be ready for harvesting and how they will benefit out of them.This was happening as they were visiting the members to see how the mvule,musizi and giant Lira was doing.
Alex B told them about the trees that each members is responsible for his or her trees.He also told them that when trees grow they will benefit from them in form of firewood,sell timber,make charcoals and learn that trees can be planted. He also told them how stoves help by not keeping smock out of their kitchens.The stoves will help them not to develop eye problems as a result of exhaling smock as they are cooking. The women can prepare food and source at the same time because of the availability of the stove.
When they went to the meeting place it was past two o’clock.Fidah the chairperson of the group led them in prayer. She also thanked the visitors to visit the members in their homes to see how kibo group programs are doing.
Alex B thanked the members for turning up for the meeting. He asked the students to introduce themselves to the community.They told them their names,where they come from and why they visited the community.The students were excited to see kibo group programs.
He told them what was intended for the meeting will discussed in the next meeting.
