- Notes
- Harriet found the participants waiting at the meeting place. As soon as she reached as participant also gathered. She walked with them to Dina’s house the home where demonstration for removing banana stems was to be carried out.
Harriet asked all the participants to enter inside the kitchen, watch and ask questions where they did not understand. She reminded them that Kibo’s goal is to empower them with a skill of building stoves so that they are able to build on their own as well as Build for others.
Harriet removed banana stems from the previously built stove as she explained the whole process to the community. When the community saw a complete stove they were excited and thanked kibo for implementing this program in their village.
The owner of the stove Dina was very excited and asked Harriet to teach her to light fire in her stove since the banana stems were out so that she can start cooking on it.
Harriet told her to wait for more three weeks before she sets fire in her stove in order to dry completely to prevent it from cracking. She also reminded her to keep on smearing it so that it can last longer.
