- Notes
- Harriet and Tape had planned to follow up on smearing of the home facilities as well as meet the participants and guide them on how to scale out in the neighboring communities.
She didn’t not find people at the meeting place because she had planned her meeting at 2:00pm and it was still early. She decided to walk home to home checking on the smearing of the home facilities.
Interestingly most people had smeared, their stoves and kitchens and looked neat. However there are some members that had not yet smeared theirs and Harriet talked to them and encouraged them to smear to protect their stoves from developing cracks so that they can last longer.
Namugere one of the members told Harriet that she would love to smear her kitchen but her husband stopped her from smearing it because he wanted to buy cement and sand to plaster it so that it looks more neat and strong.
Harriet encouraged Namugere to smear her stove mean while as she keeps on remaining her husband to work on the entire kitchen.
After the follow up , they all gathered for the meeting under the mango tree the usual meeting place in order to discuss how to teach the interested women in Mawanga village(next village). Some women from Mawanga had also come for the meeting to request kibo to go and teach them physically other than kiteigalwa women teaching them.
Unfortunately as the meeting was still going on,some one came to the meeting and communicated that Buyinza Phillip a son of Nawumbya ( one of the members) had died abruptly. The boy was living in Mayuge District Nankoma Sub County
serving at the Catholic Church but had sickle cells and asthma. It was said that probably had a quick attack and died.
The death news disorganized the members and the meeting because they needed to plan on how to transport the body, where, when to burry as well to prepare for the funeral.
