Notes
Introduction Lorna went to review with Decision making skills before introducing Communication skills. Communication skills was chosen as the next topic because from observation , some pupils are still not confident enough to express themselves, communicate freely which is a huge barrier in their way of life. Overview On arrival at the School Lorna headed to the Headteacher office to sign in and it was where she was informed that by the Headmaster that, the school was having visitors coming in from Scripture Union Uganda. They therefore asked Lorna to use only an hour with the pupils so as for them to also attend to the visitors. The head master apologized for not letting Lorna know in time because Lorna told them they were supposed to inform her if there was any school ongoing activity that she was not aware of. A few minutes in class, the visitors from scripture union arrived and when they set up their instruments, the pupils attention was overtaken. With the little time given, Lorna took advantage of this time to check on the pupils notes. Lorna decided to however check the pupils books instead whether all the pupils had all the notes since the beginning of this second term/Semester in this School. After this exercise, she discovered about 30 pupils from the 92 who did not have good notes and asked those to get their neighbors books of whom had all notes to come up to speed with the rest of their friends. . Lorna also advised the other pupils who had notes to be more organized, write neatly and well. She urged them failure to write good notes will lead to failure of their exams and this is not for Life Skills only but other subjects as well. Lorna encouraged the pupils that if they for some reason did not come to school , they can always ask their books from teacher Steven to catch up with the missing notes. This took a longer time than expected but it was very important that every pupil was on board. There was music coming from out and there was nothing much Lorna would do hence after the notes were done, Lorna briefly touched what they were to look at and dismissed the class for next Monday 24 2019. Conclusion Even though the day did not go as planned, it was good to check up on the pupils notes. Most of the pupils who did not have notes had not yet reported for this new academic term , others had reported but were in and out. One Pupil has been dodging classes working in the sugarcane plantation but eventually showed up today. Also some of the deaf pupils in the life skills class had not yet reported back, others were just slow and lazy. These were some of the reasons given to Lorna for not having notes.
