- Bible Lesson Five: God’s forgiveness
- Notes
- Ida went to Budhumba and taught a Bible lesson about God’s forgiveness. She started with a question about forgiving, many said that it’s pardoning one who wronged you.
Kibuku said that he forgives but never forgets. Okoboi said that the forgiving issue is for Christians only not for everyone.
Then Ida told a story of the unforgiving servant. She asked the community to give names to the characters in the story, the two servants, the king and the village.
Otim and Tugiro were the servants, King was King and the village was Budha. After the story every one was touched and they started blaming themselves. Katusabe said that what Otim did in the story is exactly what Betty did to her workmate.
Ida asked the community what should be done according to the story, Safari said that to forgive our debtors so as to be forgiven. When we fail to forgive as Otim in the story, we will not be forgiven too.
If we don’t forgive others, God will not forgive us just like Otim. He was taken to custody, his wife, children and staff confiscated. If he had forgiven his workmate, all the problems of confiscating his staff wouldn’t have happened.
The community thanked Kibo for bringing life lessons to mold, shape and encourage them.
