- Notes
- Abraham left Jinja to Ikumbya and the purpose was to take the CDO so that they can discuss how the government will be working with the village when Kibo exists. When he was a half way to aIkumbya the CDO calls him that he will not be able but he instructed the environmental officer to go with him to village and Abraham picked him up.
They found forty three Ikumbya members waiting for them and they first went around checking what they have done like trees, saver stoves, hygiene and sanitation and then the bore hole. All the things were looking good.
The environmental officer was happy with the achievements the village has and they ended with checking the chickens and he said this is development.
He said he did not know that he was going to visit until today when the CDO told him that he has to visit Ikumbya village, he said that he will work hand by hand with the village because they have showed that they can do something.
He thanked Kibo for great work done and he is hoping to work with Kibo in other village so that they can also. Some community members said that they started working with the next village teaching them how to make saver stoves.
They community had many questions about how they can work together with the government but he said as he was not prepared he will come back and share with them because the Chief of Ikumbya wants to visit them.
It was becoming late and the environmental officer had told Abraham to take him to Iganga town which is long distance and they left the village.
