Notes
Suzan went to the other side of the village to teach the community members how to take out the banana stems from the old stoves that were previously built. When she got there, she came across some members coming from their gardens while carrying hoes, grass and food in their baskets. The members welcomed Suzan and informed her where other members were. They walked to a home where the stove was built and found other members sitting under a tree. After a few discussions together, they entered into the kitchen and Suzan began demonstrating how the banana stems were taken out step by step while she explained the whole process to them. Some members tried participating in taking out the stems while Suzan guided them. She also told them never to fear practicing because practice makes perfect with time. The members were requested to only begin using their stoves for cooking after one month of building, for the stove would have dried up by that time and also to keep smearing them so as to look neat and avoid cracks. The members thanked Suzan for the lessons that day and promised to always improve and maintain all their sanitation and hygiene facilities so as to live a better healthy life with their families. Suzan also thanked the members for taking part in the activity that day and together they agreed on the date that the next meeting would take place.
