Notes
Checking on these specific homes in Kisiro East village and in the central, there are some improvements that were observed. Edward kitongo was found constructing a new bathroom because the old one had collapsed because of the rains recently. Musa Bombo has started digging a new pit because the old one collapsed recently with the rains. Alex together with two sanitation committee members continued to encourage the village residents to use ash in their pit latrines to prevent any bad smell and reduce houseflies. It’s still a very big challenge that many people are complaining that their pit latrines sink in and collapse during the rainy season resulting from sandy soils because most parts of Kisiro village is sandy .However on a very good note, many of the people have taken up the initiative to replace their broken facilities like digging up of new pits, bathrooms and kitchens. The leaders were mobilized to attend a meeting with Kibo staff next week on a way forward for this village.
