Notes
Manuela went to Kivule community to teach the community members about the meaning of window period and the different ways of living positively with HIV. When Manuela reached the village, she found when community members were already in place waiting for her to teach them. She greeted the members asked them about the previous lessons good enough the community members understood and could answer well, Manuela started by defining what window period is,she went ahead and said window period refers to the time when an individual gets infected with the virus to the time when an individual starts to develop signs and symptoms. she also defined what positive living is and said it’s a state at which an individual is ow living harmoniously with the virus in his or her body. After that she went ahead told the community members that window period defers and it depends on ones immune system that is to say in some people it takes three months yet in other people it lasts for nine months. Manuela also said that for one to live positively with HIV virus she or he must eat well balanced diet food, have regular exercise, have enough sleep and rest, always get check up and treat all unnecessary infections and diseases which can lower the immune systems, take medication at the right time and everyday among others. Finally she advised the community members to take care of them selves during this festival season but remember to keep money for school fees.
