- Notes
- The new kibo well that was recently given to Bukoma village still functions even though the village has had challenges of unscrupulous people that steal bolts from the well. Recently one bolt was taken from the well and this puts it at a risk of easily breaking down. Alex told the water committee chairman to convene a village meeting and meet all the village residents about the borehole maintenance and tell everyone have equal responsibility towards their well. The borehole fence also needs to be replaced because some poles have become very old. The village has in general has maintained the sanitation and its one thing the village leaders are so proud of. The homes visited still have the facilities in place and the pit latrines are still in good shape. Alex met with the village chairman, Anthony and encouraged him to work very hard to maintain the sanitation standards of his village. They agreed to have a village meeting together and come up with a plan of how this will be ensured. A day will be communicated to all the people and invite Kibo to be part of that meeting and emphasize more the point of proper hygiene and sanitation in the village.
