When Tom reached in the village, he found the chairman and two committee members in one of the residents ho,es helping and guiding him on how to construct a hand washing stand. Tom was encouraged by the commitment of the chairman and the committee members. By the time Tom found them, they had already constructed 8 new stands and were teaching the residents how to maintain them and use them. The chairman had also requested one other resident to help in his section by constructing the hand washing stands and guiding the residents. Tom encouraged the chairman and the committee members to encourage the residents to use cement on top of the stands so that it gives them more durability. Some of the residents had already put the layer of cement. Tom asked a few residents what they thought of the hand washing stand and one lady said she was very happy she had it. She said it was very good for her family especially the children to wash there hands. She had also put a jerican on her ha d washing stand with soap. In another home the resident had also put a jerican and had been washing his hands and encouraging his children to wash there hands ever since he constructed his hand washing stand. He said it was very good because of the convenience to maintain and manage. Tom encouraged the residents to continue encouraging hand washing in there homes. One creative resident was also proud to show Tom his latest model of hand washing. Tom encouraged him to use his knowledge to also teach the rest of the residents.
