Notes
Enock and Martin went to this village to check on the progress of latrine construction, dish racks, shower areas, kitchen areas, rubbish pits, clean compounds and other facilities. They also first met with the leaders to encourage them to take the lead this year to move around the village through mobilising, encourage sharing of pick axes so that every family in this community can construct good standard facilities. There are so many new latrines that are still under construction. Enock and Martin walked around to continue teaching on the values of hand washing facilities, use of ash in the latrine and also digging a soak pit behind the shower area for proper drainage and keeping the shower area dry without water logging inside. They divided up with Martin so that they can cover a big portion of the village. During the Christmas holiday, many people managed to maintain their facilities, some finished to construct their latrines and using them. They were impressed when the chairman and the VHTs gave testimonies about some of the most stubborn homes which for long didn’t have latrines and shower areas but they are so thankful to kibo more so the CLTS program which taught them the benefits of all the facilities and now they have them. Martin and Enock are so happy that people have embraced the program.
