Notes
Tom held a,village meeting with village leaders and sanitation committee members to discuss about improvements as well as to discuss about the second evaluation. In the meeting the chairman thanked kibo for the great work kibo has done in the village as well as for the encouragement it has given to the residents especially regarding sanitation and hygiene. He said he was encouraged to see that even so,e of the residents he thought would not get a latrine at least they are doing something to also improve. He said even though the village is not yet 100%, he believes that the village will get there. The other committee members also thanked kibo for the improvements made in the village. They thanked Mr Sanyu for leading the dish rack campaign in the village. This is because Mr Sanyu has been the leading person in the village by collecting money, buying nails and helping in the construction of the dish racks for village leaders. They also discussed about the evaluation and they all agreed that the evaluation be carried out at the end of the month of August. After they moved in some ho,es especially those around the borehole to check especially on hand washing facilities. In most homes, there were tippy taps that had been constructed while in three homes, they had constructed the hand washing stands. Tom encouraged those with tippy taps to maintain them and those with stands to maintain them too. There were three homes with new pits and they were guided about the construction of the structure but more especially the floor of the latrine structure. One resident was encouraged to replace the logs he had used for better logs as the committee members thought the logs he had used could not support the structure well.
