how to plant
Notes
Topic: How to plant trees and their benefits. Background: Before the commencement of planting trees, we felt it so needful to teach the community members how to plant them. Right from digging holes, their measurements (2*2*2*2) putting the manures.we also taught them the benefits of trees to their community. Overview: Abraham and Chris visited nabituluntu village and the community members where so excited to meet us. Before our meeting began Abraham had a small conversation with the members who were around that time about their village, the challenges they face and what could be done. It was so important to note that actually the community members knew their challenges and did not know what to do. The community members soon gathered and the chairman thanked the members for sacrificing their time to attend the meeting. He prayed for the meeting and invited Abraham to speak to the members. Abraham started by thanking members for keeping their village clean and also fencing their borehole. Abraham asked the value of Mvule tree in the village and all members said it was so expensive and so Abraham told them that he was in their village to work together with them to see that Mvule trees are planted and the community members were so excited to know about that. Abraham explained about the causes of change in the weather patterns and said it was because of excessive cutting of tree without replacing them. He told members that Mvule tree is pride of Busoga and so they have to work hard to plant more and that is the reason Kibo was in their village. Abraham advised the members to dig 2*2*2*2 measurements of holes and put manure in them. Abraham concluded by reminding the chairperson to register all the community members and mobilize the community to dig holes before our next visit.
