Suzan,Tape,Jeska and three visitors from United States went to the village to teach the community members how to build the fuel efficient stoves. When they arrived there, they found the members already gathered and divided into two groups which was mixed up both men and women.
They happily welcomed kibo staff and without wasting much time, the groups went separate ways to two different homes each led by kibo staff and began building the stoves. This was encouraged because dividing groups into two groups enabled each one to watch and learn easily without squeezing one another in the kitchens.
Kibo staff requested the members to watch critically at each step and try to learn the skills of building the stove because the members didn’t know the whole process yet also new members had just joined in the kitchen program.
Some of the members tried to participate in some steps such as stamping the dirt together and smoothening or smearing the stove when it was complete. Two stoves were successfully built that day making the members so excited. Kibo staffs thanked all the members for gathering that day and together agreed on the date and time that the next meeting would take place.
