Notes
David and Steven were in the village.Their intention of going there was to monitor and assess the sanitation progress a week after the triggering process. As they were in the village they first met with mr Takozekibi Joel the chairman of the sanitation committee . When mr Takozekibi Joel saw the Kibo staff he went ahead and started mobilizing the other sanitation committee members . After some few minutes all the members gathered up and turned up for the meeting.During the course of the meeting the Kibo staff requested the sanitation committee members to give a brief report about how they were progressing since the triggering meeting. All the members agreed and said that they had no progress the reason being that the village chairman was away from the village he was seeking medical treatment from Kamuli mission hospital. They said that different people visited the vice chairman’s home because they wanted to get the pick axes and shovels which would help them during the digging process of their pit latrines. However because the chairman of the village had kept the pick axes and shovels inside his house . They were were an-able to assess the usage of the pick axes and shovels which were given to them by the Kibo staff. Good enough the chairman was back in his home and more saw he had also attended that meeting. He promised before the Kibo staff and the committee members that he will never lock the village’s sanitation tools in his house instead he will be giving them to his vice chairman. David and Steven sensitized much more into deep about the maintenance and the rightful standardization of the different sanitation home facilities. They also agreed about the set deadline date of which they all agreed that it will be three months. They continued and discussed that the committee members will helping the elderly and disabled.Later afterwards one lady by the names of Sarah Nakale requested the Kibo staff along with the committee members to visit her home to see how she had constructed his dish rack. Unfortunately because she was a lady the dish rack she had constructed was too small not meeting the right size which is required. Therefore David advised her to construct a better bigger one. Also a dish rack which he would use fewer nails . Nakale promised the Kibo staff that during their next visit she will have improved upon it .In general according to the hygiene and sanitation status of the few homes the Kibo staff visited, they were not meeting the required standards.
