Community meeting and constitution review
Background:
Prior to our visit, the community members were in advanced stage of making their constitution so we felt their was need to meet them and make a review and guide them accordingly.
Overview:
The trip to Bukoma A was so exciting because we had two wonderful visitors, Doug and Joshua. We shared great ideas about Kibo and particularly Mvule program and it was amazing to know how great Doug and Josh felt for Kibo.
Before our meeting we walked around with the visitors first to the swamp where the community used to fetch drinking water before Kibo drilled a clean and fresh water for them. We also visited the bore hole Kibo drilled, chairperson stated that they were planning to build a brick fence around it. We also saw that the Mvule trees Kibo provided were growing so well and the visitors were so impressed.
In the meeting the chairman introduced his committee which involved both Muslims and Christians, he emphasized the sustainability of spirit of “togetherness “ introduced by Kibo to the community members.
The chairperson updated us on constitution drafting, the committee had indeed drafted their constitution, only that they were waiting for Abraham to give them a way forward.
During the meeting some old man gave a testimony and thanked God for using Kibo to change his life, he said life was had back then, he used to share water with animals like cows and snails.
In conclusion Abraham thanked all the community members for showing spirit of togetherness and encouraged them to love each other.
He advised the chairperson to take the constitution to to to CDO for review and also get three copies of the constitution before our next visit.
