Suzan went to the lower part of the village to monitor the stove usage and the maintenance of the other facilities such as the dish racks, shower areas, pit latrines,kitchens and rubbish pits. When she arrived there, she met a group of members sitting at Dinah’s home where the meeting was going to take place. They warmly welcomed Suzan to the village and the program chairperson started updating Suzan about the program activities and how they were progressing so far. Together they agreed and started moving around the village visiting home to home while monitoring the program facilities. Some members had begun using their stoves for cooking and reported that the stoves consumed less firewood and also cooked their food faster than before when they were using the three stones, while others complained saying that their stoves were not cooking as they expected simply because they were built in the wrong wind direction which blocked the wind from entering the stove. Suzan went ahead and requested the members to keep helping one another by teaching them how the stoves were maintained like smearing them once in a while after two weeks so that they lasted longer. She also requested the members to assist the other members who complained by rebuilding their stoves and putting them at the right wind direction. Some members had neatly smeared all their buildings and built strong drying racks as well as improved in their sanitation and hygiene around their homes which was so impressive to see. At the end of the day, suzan thanked all the members for maintaining their facilities and encouraged them to continue smearing and repairing all their facilities so as to live a better healthy life, and she left the village wishing them a happy stay.
