Notes
Tom took visitors Jim and his wife to the village to see Kibo’s work in the community. When they reached, they were welcomed by the chairman and some committee members who greeted them in joy and thanked them for visiting their village. They first held a small meeting were the visitors asked question on how kibo has impacted them and how, they have benefited. The visitors asked the chairman and a woman’s representative who shared how kibo has impacted them. The chairman said because of kibo, there has been a great reduction in diseases as well as infections. He also said it has elevated most people to greater status because it has improved on there dignity. He pointed out that also men spend more time in there homes. The woman representative said since kibo came in the village to teach them about Sanitation and hygiene, they have not registered any child death in the village to diseases related to sanitation and hygiene compared to before kibo came. After the meeting, they moved around and they were able to see a new pit being dug, a dish rack under construction, four finished pits and many new hand washing stands. Jim was very thankful and appreciative to kibo for the work it’s doing in the village as well as the village leaders appreciated the visitors for going to there village. Tom as they moved encouraged residents about standards and also encouraged those residents with pits to finish the construction. There was a resident collecting logs that day to start constructing.
