- Ws Notes
- David and Steven were in Bukhara village to follow up on the borehole status and general village sanitation standards .When the Kibo staff reached the village they were welcomed by mr Twahah the chairman of the borehole and other committee members who led them to where the borehole was. At the borehole they first pump the water because they wanted to check and see if it had the earthworms in it. However when they also pumped it was true because they also saw the earthworms in the water they had pumped into the container. At that very time the Kibo staff had thought of advising the entire village to stop using the borehole. But unfortunately the committee members and some village leaders said that, they didn’t have any solution apart from continuing using that contaminated water. Therefore the Kibo staff promised the village that they would be linking up with the district water office and see how they will be helping. The village through their chairman mr Twahah were advised to continue working together. They were also reminded to always maintaining the required sanitation standards .And above all practicing and maintaining the safe water chain. Because the village had 60000 shillings as their borehole account balance. They were reminded to continue contributing money for the future sustainability of their borehole.
Out of the 36homes the Kibo staff visited only five homes required sanitation improvements. However the Kibo staff left the village promising to help them through consulting the district water office.
