- Notes
- Manuela went to Nawiabete village, she started by asking the community members about the previous lesson that was about positive living and knowledge on window period, they were able to recal some of what they learned, after that Manuela taught the community members about mother to child transmission, Manuela wanted parents to take this lesson very serious because most community members, mostly women like giving birth at home which is not good, sometimes they don’t know their HIV status and they end up infecting their babies during birth or after birth.
While teaching Manuela demonstrated how babies get infected during birth, she went ahead and told them that it is better for couples to go for Antenatal together so that they can carry out HIV test together and if they are positive they can start the treatment as soon as possible.
After teaching Manuela asked members that how many people are going to follow and put in to practice what they had learnt in the lesson?. Almost the whole of the community members are willing to do that which is good. She also informed them about the women conference but she told them let them discuss over it with their husbands to avoid problems.
Still people of Nawiabete want to be tested so that they can know their status.
