Notes
Enock and Martin moved around the section of the chairman LC1 to also check on the progress of New latrine construction, shower areas, dish racks, kitchen areas, rubbish pits, and also check on the maintenance and uses of all the facilities. This is the first time visiting this section of the village in this year after the Christmas holiday. To Enock and Martins surprise, this section of the village has worked so well on constructing new facilities and improving on the sanitation of the village. There are many newly constructed facilities on great standard levels. The chairman has also been so much of help to mobilise, monitor, teach and asses the progress of improving the sanitation in this area. This is because Kibo staff have empowered him, encouraged and taught him through walking with them home to home the importance of having all these facilities in homes. The homes are well swept and all the trash is thrown in the rubbish pits unlike before where trash was just everywhere in people’s yards. Most of the people are enjoying the shades in there compounds lately because they are well swept. The men can relax at home for sometime during the day because homes are cleaner. In the home of Mr nandumbu Muwaya, he is finally digging a new pit latrine for his family and for long he used to run a way. Enock was impressed when he met him for the first time as he was showing off his pit of 8ft deep. He is planing to dig a 20ft deep latrine.
