Alex met with both the district water officer Buyende district and the district health inspector of Buyende to discuss the Kibo plans for kitukiro village. This step is taken first because it helps in proper planning of the village. Also it avoids duplication of services in that two organizations may plan to carry out same activities in the same village and at the same time. The district offices will in most cases know the plans for every village in the district in a given year. Alex told the government officials that Kibo group had planned to conduct water, sanitation and hygiene programs in kitukiro this year and asked if the district or any other NGO had planned to do the same in Kitukiro. Both officials were very happy that Kibo had returned to partner with Buyende after a long time without being very active in the district. They cross checked their work plan and told Kibo group to go a head with its plan as no one had planned to do the same thing in kitukiro at the moment. This is very important that the government understands what Kibo group intends to do in a given village. The water engineer called Mr. Zijja was happy that Kibo is planning to give water as to Kitukiro. There is still a great need for water in Buyende and it has the lowest water coverage in Busoga region. WASH will plan to go back and conduct a baseline survey in Kitukiro village before triggering the village. Alex was unable to reach the village because of time
