Notes
Topic: Community meeting. Background: After giving them tree seedlings, Abraham and chris had to visit kitukiro village and see how the trees were planted and also pay a visit to homes of members who planted them. Overview: When members of kitukiro received tree seedlings, Abraham promised to visit them and see how they were caring for them so this visit was aimed at encouraging the members to care for trees and irrigate them during drought . Abraham and chris found the chairperson and some members already waiting and they were so happy that Abraham and chris had fulfilled the promise they made of coming back to see how they planted the trees. The chairperson said he planted four Mvule trees and three Musizi trees on his plot of land and also encouraged the community members to plant more trees if they have enough land. One gentleman called Matiya said he once had four trees which he sold off and built a house so he wished he had more trees on his plot of land he would be so rich now however he was happy that Kibo gave him eight Mvule tree seedlings to plant. Abraham requested the chairperson to walk with him through the homes of those who planted the trees. After the walk around the homes, it was encouraging to see how the members understood the importance of planting trees and how they should care for them. Chris taught them the techniques of using a water bottles to irrigate the trees in case of drought . In conclusion, Abraham told the community members the importance of working together as a village and advised them to think of a possible project they can do as a group before our next visit.
