Notes
Tom made a visit to mpumiro village and when he arrived in the village, he was welcomed by the vice chairman of the village and two other committee members. They started moving around the village checking on facilities being constructed or pits being dug. In the first home they visited, the resident had started on a new pit and had reached a depth of about 5ft. They guided the resident on how to dig the pit as it was wider. The resident after realizing that it was going to be hard to put logs on the pit, the resident offered to start a new pit which he said he will be starting in the next few days. In the second home, the resident had finished the construction of the shower facility and promised to start on a new pit for a new latrine. Tom encouraged the resident to dig a deeper pit so that he invests in long term. There was also a home were they had lost a relative but had finished a new latrine. Tom advised the vice chairman to speak to the home across the home that had lost a relative to start on the digging a pit and constructing a new latrine. In two other homes, the residents had finished the pits and promised to start construction of the structure while in another home, the elderly woman even invited Tom and the committee members into her house to see the cement, the wire mesh as materials for the construction of the latrine. The lady had finished the digging of the pit. Tom encouraged her to build a good latrine that will last longer for her family. In another home, the resident had also finished the pit but was waiting on the Manson to start on the construction. As Tom was walking, he was met by the chairman and his treasurer who were concerned about the information going on in the village that Kibo will not give iron sheets to the residents but rather a money scam. Tom suggested that they have a village meeting to discuss about the iron sheet agenda. The chairman and the committee members agreed to mobilize the village for a,general meeting.
