Notes
Enock and Martin made a visit to this community to be able to check on the progress of Sanitation and hygiene. The community welcomed us with a lot of joy at the meeting area. The chairman LC1 open with the word of prayer and then welcomed to to speak to the residents. When we stood up to talk, we asked why there are still as people without proper latrines, asked which challenges they are facing during this program and how to solve some of the challenges. One of the challenges was people are waiting to harvest there food crops so as to get money and pay for bricks to construct good latrines and also some to pay some men to construct for them and dig pit latrines as well. Some of the community members also challenged those residents to also use the available materials instead of waiting for along time to get harvests. And some residents pointed out some families which are slow and encouraged them to take all the lessons seriously. The kibo guys also reminded the community residents about the many diseases which are brought due to open defecation and poor sanitation case in point diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid, trachoma, cholera which may kill the whole village and loss of our beloved ones. They continued to educate the residents about the importance of proper sanitation and hygiene. The community members where so happy with the great work kibo is doing in the community and willing to contribute and buy iron sheets to roof.
