Both David and Alex were in Kisiro to meet with the water user committee and held a discussion about their roles and responsibilities during this period of the borehole survey and drilling. The water user committee has to go through their roles and responsibilities to make sure that this whole tedious period of borehole survey and drilling goes on smoothly. This committee has a big task of spear heading this process and has a responsibility to bring all the village together making sure that no one develops selfish ambitions thinking that a borehole can be drilled anywhere someone might want. The water user committee is supposed to work together making sure that they come up with ways of how they have to feed the workers and ensuring that all the people are on board to support this process. Also the water user committee was told that they have to play a role to ensure that all the money needed to be contributed amounting to 300,000/= per well is available and in this case, this village has to raise 600,000/= for both boreholes that are expected to be drilled in Kisiro. The water user committee was reminded that Kibo group won’t be on ground to make sure all things move as expected but only rely so much on them. The water user committee was very happy that the community entrusted them with this responsibility and the chairperson Mutesi Saina was happy to report to Alex and David that her committee was very ready to take up all the responsibilities before them and told Alex not to worry as everything would go on smoothly. Alex will go back for another village meeting with all the people to continue preparing them before the borehole survey. Kibo group has to strongly discourage the people not to divide themselves and fight for where the borehole can be drilled but rather leave the hydrogeologist do his job very well. Two days ago, there was another bad storm in the village and on a very sad note, many individuals lost their buildings with iron sheets being blown away by the storm. They visited all the people that lost their property and encouraged them. Also some people including the village leader in Kisiro central had completed a new pit latrine.
