- Health lesson 4: Menstrual Cycle
- Notes
- Ida went to Naibowa and taught about Menstrual cycle. She continued from where she stopped last time. Women looked confused and were not getting anything as Ida was teaching. She asked how many knew how to read? They were only two and the majority didn't know how to read nor write. It was challenging but Ida figured out how to do it. She asked the class to go and get sticks to use for counting.
After five times of repeating the same thing slowly they started getting the point.some two men did great and are going to teach those who are still struggling.
One lady got it right and will also teach those who haven't got the idea.Wilber the chairman volunteered to help those who missed this lesson. He thanked Kibo for such lessons that will help their children too, some miss school because of not knowing the days they are having their periods. Some feel embarrassed when laughed at and even some drop out from school because of this issue. Now they will be prepared for the periods some days too. So it won't be a problem again even women just find out from church ,market and other public places which makes them feel embarrassed.
Naigaga asked the lesson to be reviewed at the women's conference because she believes all women need to know and learn the Menstrual calendar.
