Notes
After reaching the village, Tom called the health inspector who later joined them and started moving around the village. Tom also found the vhts when they were teaching residents (home to home) about hand washing. They are teaching the residents how to set up and construct hand washing tippy taps as well as encouraging them to use ash. After the health inspector arrived, they started moving in homes to check on progress being made towards finishing their facilities. In most of the homes that have not yet finished their facilities, the inspector was encouraging them to have the facilities done by 31st January and most of them were positive that they will have their facilities done. In one particular home, they found a young boy helping his father pull dirt from the pit as he adds onto its depth before constructing the structure. Tom thanked the young boy for helping his father but also cautioned the father not to over work the boy. Tom later visited the home of the child who had lost his sight due to a motorcycle accident and found that his sight is improving. He encouraged the, to go back to the hospital to see a doctor and Tom gave the parents the remaining money that kibo staff had contributed towards the medical and hospital bills towards treating the boy.
