Notes
Suzan went to the lower part of the village to monitor the stove usage and the maintenance of the other program facilities such as the smearing of the buildings and construction of the new dish racks. When she got there, she found a few members gathered at the meeting place with some of their leaders discussing about the program activities carried out so far. Suzan was warmly welcomed to the village and after exchanging greetings and discussing about a few issues concerning the program activities, they got up and began walking around the village visiting home to home. During the process, most members were now cooking on their fuel efficient stoves and had also well smeared all their buildings including their stoves while a few still had challenges while using the stoves saying they weren’t cooking as they expected. Suzan went ahead and encouraged them to be friendly to their fellow members so that they borrow some ideas on how to improve on their stoves as well as their sanitation and hygiene which were poor. She again requested the members to stop cooking on the three stones open flames yet they had the new improved fuel efficient stoves because the new stoves helped them get rid of all the challenges they faced while using the old three stones open flames for cooking. Suzan went ahead and emphasized on the maintenance of all their home facilities so that they lived a healthy happy life with their families. The members thanked Suzan for the visit and advise given, saying they were so grateful for the good services offered by Kibo group. The meeting came to an end wishing one another a happy stay.
