Notes
Tom met with the, committee members to discuss with them about the results from the second evaluation as well as find solutions to the challenges that are still being faced in the campaign to improve sanitation and hygiene in kishaike village. Tom first thanked and appreciated the committee members for the dedication they have had throughout since the program started and encouraged them to continue working. The chairman also thanked the village committee members and leaders for the work they have done in the village and encouraged them to continue. He said there are still homes that need to improve and construct facilities. He also appreciated the residents who have worked and improved there homes. One committee member representative pointed out that one of the challenges being faced in the program is the fact that some village leaders are not complying with the committee members and have not been supportive as well as not constructing facilities in there homes. He said that even though some village leaders are called upon to move around they don’t do so and only request the committee members to move. Tom encouraged the committee members and and encouraged the village leaders to work together as its one of the ways through which the program can move fast. They agreed to continue working and promised that after two months, the village will have reached the 100% mark. Tom also encouraged them to continue encouraging residents about hand washing as well as the contributions for the iron sheet as even some latrines have collapsed due to not being roofed. Tom left for jinja.
