Tom met with the chief and health assistant at the sub-county to discuss on program coordination in the village. The health assistant wanted to know how kibo plans to work in the village and how they can actively participate together with kibo to promote sanitation and hygiene. The health assistant was very happy for kibo going to work in the village of ibaako. He is familiar with kibo as well as its activities in the village from the borehole to the Mvule program and he is also familiar with kibo activities in Kalalu village as,well. He also asked if kibo was promoting sanitation and hygiene in kalalu village and Tom said it was,not actively promoting sanitation there. He requested for kibo to at least extent the sanitation and hygiene program to kalalu village so that they can have two villages improving in sanitation and hygiene. Tom suggested that he will pass the request to the administration of kibo but for now kibo was focused on ibaako. from the sub-county Tom visited with the chairman of ibaako and together they moved in the section of the village around the primary school to check to how the neighbor of the primary school are affecting the sanitation and hygiene of the school. This is because most of the residents around the primary school don’t have latrines and use the schools latrine which is not health for the pupils. Tom said he will address the problem during the sanitation and hygiene visits where he will organize for a meeting with residents around the primary schools and the schools administration. After Tom left for jinja.
