Notes
When Tom reached the village, he found the vhts waiting and after some suggestions of where to start from, they finally came to a conclusion that they should visit every home where a latrine and other facilities are being constructed. They started with the LC 1 chairman ‘s home where they found that the latrine construction was in progress and they were moving steadily towards finishing the latrine. They after moved to another home of a resident called ibra to encourage him to finish his latrine as well as Bosco and others on the lower section of the village. Bosco said he was just waiting on a trip of sand to start with the latrine floor before constructing the walls and then putting the roof. Another resident had finished making bricks and was waiting on them to dry before starting to construct but Tom encouraged him that because he is already past the deadline, he can borrow already dry and burned bricks from another resident and he would replace or repay the person with his when they have dried. The resident agreed to that. Tom was also able to demonstrate how ash can be used in the latrine as well as for hand washing. The resident were very surprised to see what ash can do especially with eliminating flies from the latrine. Tom was also encouraging and telling them about the final evaluation coming soon and encouraged them to have their facilities ready before the final evaluation.
