Notes
Martin went to lgerera A, to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement in that village. He walked around that section with the Chairman LC1, LC2 and the sanitation committee members. Their intention was to encourage the community members about facility constructions and standards. Other community members are not constructing their homes facilities in a good standard, because they are not doing so on their own behalf but because they are being told to do so. Generally the community members in that village, have worked hard to construct their sanitation facilities like latrines and shower areas with bricks and cement. For those who are still digging their new pit latrines, the group was encouraging them that when they start constructing their new latrines, let them construct their facilities in a strong way and better standard. Because those facilities are going to help them for a long time. The group asked them that why are they focusing on latrines. They told them that, when had a triggering day, they learned that if you don’t have a latrine, you’re the one destroying the hall village with some diseases like malaria, typhoid, etc. When you compare to the fast time kibo went to that village, to do the baseline, there was few latrines in that village. But now at list every home in that village is trying hard to get a new latrine, which is so good. The community members promised the group that they are willing to work on other facilities without force, because they have seen the value of those homes facilities. And kibo is willing to work with them. The group walked in 38homes.
