Martin and Enock went to Igerera A, to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement. They walked around that village with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members. Good enough the community members are working so hard on their sanitation facilities like digging new pit latrines and constructing them, rubbish pits, kitchens and shower areas. The group was encouraging the residents about the standards and maintenance. What made Martin and Enock happy was that the sanitation committee members promised them that they are going to work hard to encourage the community members about sanitation facilities. And the group told them to construct the home facilities on their own without force. Because those facilities are going to help them, to make their homes clean and to reduce some diseases like malaria, diarrhea and typhoid which is always caused by mosquitoes and flies. The group was so happy to see that there’s a Church, which is under construction and they digging a new pit latrine at same time. Because they had that there’s a program of sanitation and hygiene going around in that village. So that is why they decided to work on that new pit latrine. Even if it’s rain season, but the community members are willing to work on the sanitation facilities. Kibo also is willing to work with them. The group walked in 46homes.
