Alex B and Chris met thirty one members of nawaibete village including their leaders, the purpose was to discuss about registering their group and also create idea about what they can do as a community. The chairperson was happy and thanked Kibo for being consistent and committed to what they do in the community however, he said as a committee, despite them having drafted their own constitution,they had not yet registered their group because the sub county they were allocated to was not functioning so they were still stuck with the documents. Previously nawaibete was in isinde sub county but a new sub county was curved out of isinde and its now called nawaikona in which nawaibete falls but its not operational. The chairperson said nawaibete community has 60 registered number of members and is ready to set off as soon as they register their group at the sub-county. When Alex and Chris went to the new Nawaikona subcounty to find out whether it’s operating , they found the offices closed and the furniture was confiscated by the land lord because rent arrears had accumulated however when Alex and Chris went to Isinde sub county to find out the truth about the new sub county, the sub-county chief was in office and said when the government created the new sub-county, it did not approve funds to run it and in that case he said all members were still using the old sub county so he advised Alex and Chris to tell the members of nawaibete to use isinde sub-county because Nawaikona is not in existence. Chris consulted the CDO and said he will be in office on Friday and Monday meanwhile Alex called chairperson and informed him that The CDO is available to help them from isinde sub county offices and so he should visit him with all the documents on Friday. The chairperson promised to take the documents for registration on Friday and our next meeting will be about what the community will do together and every member will give his or her opinion.
