- Suzan and Jessica went to Kagulu .A. to monitor the maintenance of the program facilities such as the stove usage, construction of new dish racks and smearing of the buildings. When they got there, they found that it had rained heavily in the village with the ground all soaked up and Some members were seen in their gardens weeding and uprooting ground nuts.
Jessica and Suzan went to the meeting place and found some members and their leaders gathered while discussing some issues concerning their village development. The members were so excited to see Kibo staff and welcomed them to the village.
Suzan first thanked all the members for the good work done and then suggested they move around the village visiting different homes while checking on different facilities. The members agreed and together they began moving around.
During the process, Suzan and Jessica observed that some members had cracked stoves due to poor maintenance and the kitchen walls and roofs were all in a poor state which all needed repair and smearing.
Some dish racks were also swept off by the rains as well as the latrines and shower areas which all needed repair while others took good care of all their facilities. Kibo staff advised the members with poor facilities to see that they reconstruct their dish racks, latrines, shower areas and reroof their kitchens so as to stop the rains from licking into the kitchens which would destroy the stoves. The members were also requested to smear all their buildings and stoves so that they lasted longer especially the stoves which kept on cracking.
The members thanked Kibo staff for the advice given and promised to do so whenever they found free time out of their gardens. This was very important because doing so would help them live a happy healthy life free from various diseases. Suzan thanked all the members present for taking their time that day, wishing them to continue with the same spirit of working together and the meeting finally came to an end.
