Notes
Martin and Enock went to Mpumiro, to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement. They walked around the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members in the lower section of the village from the Chairman LC1 towards the main road to Buyoboya village. Good enough even if it’s raining too much, but the community members are willing to work on their sanitation facilities like digging the new pit latrines, dish racks, rubbish pits, kitchens and shower facilities. The group was encouraging them that, let them construct their sanitation facilities on their own. Because they have seen those who constructed their sanitation facilities in a bad standard, the heavy rain destroyed other facilities like latrines, kitchens and shower facilities. For those who are still digging their new pit latrines, they told the group that they are trying to contribute money to buy cement to construct strong latrines, kitchens and shower facilities in a better standards. For those who have worked on their shower areas, the group was encouraging them to buy some cement and put at the top, to make them stronger for a long time. After that Martin, Enock and the village leaders had a brief meeting, to discuss how they can help the community members to work on their sanitation facilities. The village leaders decided that they are going to work hard to encourage the community members to construct their facilities, even if kibo staff is not there. And kibo also is willing to work with that village to make it clean. The group walked in 45homes.
