Notes
Emphasis was on sustainability, standardization of the facilities and hand washing facilities plus the families that promised to construct new latrines from the previous visit. Enock and Martin walked around in a good number of homes to encourage, sensitise and teach the simple methods and designs of how to make dish racks, hand washing facilities which can be easily cleaned and refilling water can be done easily. Kibo staff encouraged most of the people to use Ash in the latrines from children to adults every time after visiting the latrine. Our goal is when people hold in ash, they will be forced to wash their hands because their hands will have ash which has remained. There are many nice latrines that have been constructed, Enock and Martin encouraged them on the maintenance and proper hygiene in their homes. The ladies are also taking part in smearing the facilities around their compounds. There are homes which have nice compounds at the moment, well swept and using the rubbish pits. This village is predominantly moslem and on Friday most of the people go for prayers, you find few people in their homes if carryingout a follow up visit.
