- Notes
- Harriet had planned to follow up with some homes in Sinde that we’re cooking on three stones along side the fuel efficient stoves. In the previous visit When Harriet found them cooking on the three stones they apologized and promised to change after being reminded of the dangers of open flames.
She walked through around twenty five homes and found when some homes have now changed. One home attributed the cooking on open flames as being done by children but Harriet had encouraged her to ensure that children don’t cook on open flames to avoid challenges that come from cooking on open flames.
It was interesting to see some people who had changed that is some people had taken out the three stones and were now cooking on their fuel efficient stoves on daily basis. They also confessed that they have seen a great change that is less firewood being used, cooks fast because two things can be cooked at ago.
However there were three homes that she came across still cooking on open flames and she retaught them about the dangers of open flames. She also reminded them that of the dangers of cooking on open flames like too much smoke , fire accidents among others.
Harriet also encouraged the members who did not have kitchens to build them so that the group will build for them stoves too.
